Summons: who sent it?
What to do depends on who is summoning you. Choose your case: below are the start of each guide and the links.
From the military enlistment office
Check your extract from the Summons Register. Call-up papers count as served in person, by registered post, in your Gosuslugi account, or 7 days after appearing in the Summons Register. Deleting your Gosuslugi account does not change this.
From the police, Investigative Committee or FSB
First, check through a lawyer what kind of summons it is. Questioning is part of a criminal case: you may be summoned on paper, by phone or otherwise (art. 188 CPC). Ignoring a proper summons can mean being brought in by force.
From a court
Find a defender in advance: under the Code of Administrative Offences it need not be an advocate; it can be someone you trust. Since June 2026 OVD-Info no longer arranges lawyers in Russia, so many people defend themselves.
